Should I unistall Norton 360?

Should I unistall Norton 360 and install AVG free?

I would. But I'm me and you're you. (Actually, I wouldn't install AVG, I'd use my own preference.)

Why would you want to uninstall Norton? Are you unhappy with it? Subscription about to run out? Borked your OS?

Those are the usual suspects.

P.S. This an excellent online scanner.Just use the scanner, you don't have to check anything else unless you want to.

http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/ ESET ONLINE SCANNER

What is going on that makes you feel that Norton isn't finding something?

System slowed down?Pop-Ups?

P.S. Ran ESET ONLINE SCANNER on my PC Approx 2 hrs 972,000 files Nothing bad found.

P.S.These answers help to evaluate the problem.Just fill in the answers next to the questions.

Are you running with Administrator privileges.

OS,edition ,32bit or 64bit and version ?

Browsers and ver.?

Security software and ver?

Other data you think might be relevant?

What did you do and then what happened?

Cureit by DrWeb is a pretty good demand malware scanner for second opinions. Requires no install, runs from the download location. Last but not least (hopefully) Norton, notorious for being intolerant of other security apps, shouldn't have a hissy about it.

Are there specific symptoms, or is it just the usual background paranoia, elevated a tad? ^_^

It still writes registry data though, even though it doesn't install.

Pc is very slow, I use Norton 360, Adaware Pro with adwatch, and spybot search and destroy...

Has it always been slow? Or just since installing Norton360, or AdAware? Or just slowed down recently, an apparent random thing?

Try uninstalling Norton 360, restart a couple of times, and if there isn't much of a speed difference, there's something else bogging you down.

(THIS is assuming you have a means to install it again, of course)

And Avast! is way way better then AVG lol :P

If you do decide to uninstall Norton 360 it may be best to use Symantec's Norton 360 removal tool.

smoked, may i ask what are the specs. of the computer you have Norton installed on?

Another vote here to trash Norton 360. I'll admit that it has improved from it's predecessors, but not by much. Uninstall it, run SymNRT and purge it from your system, then get avast and enjoy a faster computer!

and Kaspersky(which i use) is way, way, way, better than AVAST.. :P:P

I would gladly use Kaspersky but as I'm on a limited pension and its $59.95US cost would buy me quite a bit of food and I don't own a credit card so it makes it a bit hard to pay for it.

SOULJA-kol sent me a PM saying that he investigates ways to get keys for software so that he does not have to pay for them.

I refuse to lower myself to that of a common street criminal no matter what

my fate hands me :o
