share it MSIEXEC v5.019041.21993 PopUp

Since using trial pro version I received share it via update and every time I run health check I encounter this pop up.

How do I fix this issue?

windows installer error.jpg

Health Check has found an installed software that has an update available, so it has told Windows to update it.

(Health Check doesn't do that in the Free version of CCleaner which is why you weren't seeing it before you got the Trial).

So Windows installer is now asking your permission to install the update.

If you click OK then Windows should go ahead and install the update for whatever software it is.

Once the software is up to date then Health Check should not try to update it again, until there is a new version.

We can't see from that screenshot just what software it is that Health Check has found to update, (You say it's Share-It, fair enough).

But you can find out if you haven't already updated it.

If you go to Tools>Software Updater then that should show you what Health Check is finding to update on your machine.

For example Software Updater here says that it has found an update for Zoom on this lapton (to Zoom v5.14.7 which I know was released last Friday):

Thank You

updater shows NodeJs 18

share it installed thrice and i uninstalled the old plus the three updates and the issue still p

could the pop up be the result of an unsuccessful Nodejs update and if so how do I best fix the problem?

the issue still persists.

Windows is obviously expecting a parameter which is not being passed to it.

Which is why you are getting that installer message.

I'll make the staff/developers aware of the issue.

These are Networking applications and not many people would be running Share-it and Node.js at home, is this a business computer?

Node.js is a bit of an odd case when it comes to versions.

v18.16.0 LTS is the recommended version for most users, BUT v20.1.0 is the latest version available.

Can you tell us what the Software Updater says your Current Node.js version is, and what New version it has found?

EDIT.

PS. An option is to always use Custom Clean and not Health Check - Custom Clean does not do an automatic check for software updates, that's what the seperate Software Updater is there for.

(Note that Health Check in the Free version doesn't do the automatic check either, it's only automatic in Pro).

You can set CCleaner to always show you Custom Clean instead of Health Check, OPtions>Settings>CCleaner Home Screen.

PPS. If you go offline before running Health Check in Pro then it can't try to automatically update anything either; because it isn't connected to the web to check for updates.
