Secure File Deletion

I'm a newbie. If I use secure file deletion can I still use the area of my hard drive that has been affected? If I understand correctly this mode of CCleaner deletes and then over writes these areas so data is unrecoverable. So is it still usable?

You can still use the areas that have been wiped. CC dosent alter the drive itself. Only the data that has been removed/deleted.
