Scanning Question:

I've run this program a few times and I love it! It's far better then any other program I used. However I do have a question. I had been running for 5 to 6 hours yesterday. I noticed when it scans, it seems to stop at 26% complete for a few hours. I ran the program again overnight, running over 10 hours. It stopped again at 26% for several hours. When I woke up this morning it was at 51%. Two hours later it was still at 51%. I have stopped the program and am rerunning it again, since I have all day to let it scan. However, the number of files it's found hasn't changed in over an hour and it's at 26% complete, two hours into the scan. The estimated time is all that's changed. It's gone from 2 hours, to 7 hours.

Is it normal for the program to slow down at certain intervals? I do have large files I've deleted which may slow it down.

I have a 1TB hard drive, so i do realize it would take a while.

I am searching for some MP3 files I accidentally deleted.

I am running windows 7 64 bit..

8GB of RAM

HP computer AMD 4X processor.

Thanks!!!!

Sounds like you have "Deep Scan" enabled this unfortunately slows your PC down considerable over regular file scanning.

Yes, I do have Deep Scan running. The regular scan didn't seem to find any files I was looking for. It just seemed weird that it would stop for a long time at certain points such as 26% and now at 48%, without finding anymore files when it does stop or slow. It had been going pretty fast between those times. There are some large mp3 and probably old game files that it probably has to go through, which I can understand the slow down. I realized a 1TB hard drive would probably take a while anyway. If I don't find the file(s), it's no biggie, I 'll survive. :) Still an awesome program I'd recommend to anyone.

THANKS!!
