As I just installed a new PC running Windows 7, I took the opportunity to install the latest version of CCleaner (a magnificent utility, btw!): 3.00.1303.
I installed as standalone (for all users). As I configured it, I discovered the following problem with cookies:
- Options - Cookies
- moved some cookies from left to right (under Cookies to keep)
- Clic on another tab (eg. Parameters)
- clic back on Cookies
=> The cookies I moved to the right are back to the left!
This happens only in a non-Admin session. If I do the same from the Admin session, it works fine. I even find the cookies I moved to the right when I go to the non-admin session.
Problem of course is that non-admin cookies are not visible from the admin session, so I have no way to preserve any of those as normal user.
Having said this, I just realised that if I disable 'save to a .ini file'. it works fine (and I realise why).
My problem then is: how can I back up my non-admin settings and port them to another computer?
Thanks for your support and for that very good and very useful program!
For ccleaner to function properly (especially in save in .ini) you MUST run it in UAC Admin mode. Note that Admin mode is different from administrator user. All it means is "allow this program to write to the program folder"

Thanks for the feedback.
Being new to W7, I am not sure to understand: when you say that I should run it in UAC Admin mode, do you mean I should disable UAC completely? I tried that and it did not make a difference. Or did you mean something else?
I tried Alan's suggestion to run it from a flash drive and that works fine indeed. It's just a bit annoying that it would not be resident on my main PC.

gads no. I mean you should accept the admin prompt.
