Running 3.07, 3.15 won't install on XP SP3

I am running 3.07 on a Windows XP SP3 PC, but every time I try to install 3.15, I just get a cmd box on the screen for a second, then it disappears and no install takes place. I have tried many times, always with the same result. I'm running 3.15 on other PCs, all XP SP3. I'm stumped. Appreciate any help.

Firstly are you installing from one of these two sites? Do a fresh download from one of them (preferably the slim build from the piriform site.)

Make sure you choose 'download' and not 'run' from the download box when you are on the website you are downloading it from. Then install it on your machine.

Are your antivirus/malware apps up to date and all scans clean?

Instead of installing, what happens if you grab the portable version I try running that from a folder to see if it works?

Sometimes, there may be problems preventing an installer from working the normal way, so this will eliminate a step or two.

Portable only has to be unzipped, & does not need installing.

I downloaded, as always, from piriform. Also running up-to-date MSE and Comodo Firewall.

I'll look for the portable version, I don't remember seeing it anywhere.

On the main Piriform download page it is accessed via a link at the extreme bottom called "Other Builds"
