Restoring files and their paths

Thinking I was deleting proxy preview files it turns out I've deleted folders containing premiere video projects, and folders containing other folders each containing hundreds of video clips linked to these projects by their paths. I haven't used that drive at all since I made the error. No saves to it whatsoever.

With Recuva can I select these files to be undeleted in a (non-destructive) way which automatically rebuilds the directory tree and restores their place in it? It won't be practical to save each file to a new location and then painstakingly recreate the tree and place each file into its place within it.

If this is possible, will I find explicit instructions on how to do this in the documentation? All tutorials I can find on the net for recovery software involve restoring groups or individual files to new locations.

You can't undelete anything. You can recover to a different drive/partition and use (in Advanced Mode) Options/Actions/Restore Folder Structure, which will do as it says. If you set your View Mode to Tree View you can see and restore entire folders. Try recovering a small folder to test it. You can then, after all recovery operations are complete, copy the folder contents back to their rightful place.

Be sure to recover to a device (2nd Hard Drive, a flash Memory card and Floppy Disc) that is not the device the files were originally removed from (this will give you a better chance of successful recovery)
