Restore MKV Files

I love this software. But I could not restore MKV file on a hard disk with WD Caviar Green 3TB GPT NTSF, lost partition.

He restored several AVI, very good.

I think any software in the world cant restore MKV in these conditions.

I tried various software, some with many megabytes,

and believe me, the best was Recuva

It would be great if Recuva do this.

Thanks,

Sorry to hear you were unable to restore your file. The developers read all of the threads, so perhaps one day this functionality will be implemented.

Sorry for your problem.

I do not believe this is yet implemented in Recuva.

EaseUS may have a partition recovery solution for free to assist you in recovery.

If not, I fully know that Handy Recovery does work, if you buy the full edition because I had the same problem years ago & that fixed it for me.

Handy Recovery can also restore from a corrupted user profile as well (windows won't show any files through explorer, yet it is still there but corrupted... Can happen if user experiences incorrect shutdown/various failing hardware causes data glitches, etc...)

Yes, hopefully Recuva will implement this functionality, because a drive can go to RAW mode in a moment's notice. For whatever reason.

+ 1 for the idea from me, & hope that what I said above is able to help you rescue your data for now

P.S. While googling about this I came across this interesting little site

You may be right about EaseUS... I haven't specifically used that app, but saw it online & have use one of their partition resize products in a past time successfully, so I figured it may work...

Bottom line:

You may be able to run Recuva & restore the files after checking the options for deep scan under advanced options as well as restore folder structure. Try recovering 1 at a time if selecting all fails.

I know that I have used & had great success with Handy Recovery in time past (if Recuva fails, though I would try Recuva first since it is free).

I am not 100% sure on this, but I heard someone mention PhotoRec as a good utility in time past (though not sure how it handles your specific case), but it should be free.

Superfast why are you more or less repeating yourself?

Let's just wait and see if the poster comes back.

Providing you haven't formatted your drive I would suggest you try TestDisk and repair your lost partition table.

I second that.

Out of the free ones, this is another great one to try.
