I just ran CCleaner for my mother in law. But she wants her cookies back. Is there a way i can do that or can I run system restore and bring them back that way. Any help would be appreciated. Mike
Hello mtartini, welcome to the forum. Unfortunately you can't get back the cookies that were deleted.
What System Restore does not doContrary to what many think, System Restore does not back up the computer. It does not monitor changes to personal data files such as documents, pictures, email, and so on. For example, one folder that is not monitored by System Restore is My Documents. So if you use My Documents for your personal files, you will need another way to keep them backed up. Also not backed up are your Internet cookies and favorites and many other types of files created by the user. System Restore monitors only a core set of specified system and application file types
If you use CCleaner on her computer in the future, move the cookies you want to save over to the keep side before cleaning.
Options > Cookies
Or just clear the cookies box for whatever browser she uses.
Some cookies are saved as flash cookies, so you may want to clear the box for Adobe Flash Player.
Cleaner > Applications > Multi Media > Adobe Flash Player
Good Luck

Hello Mike,
I understand your enthusiasm to help your mother in law and your other friends. Remember to take the approach that you must do the preparatory steps prior to any Cleaning. You must also let them be in control of the process or they will not learn the benefits of CCleaner.
