I think you might need to, reason being anyone could login and say "delete this account". Such as this topic for example since you aren't logged into the account to request its removal.
The old account username would be a help.

Why do you need to do that if it is you anyway?

Why not go to login and request a password reset, assuming you can't remember the old one after 13 years?.
Yes, I've tried resetting with a variety of email addresses I thought would be tied but can't remember it
