when I do the registry do I have to keep all those save in back up chcnges for the registry?

You don't have to but it would not be a good idea to leave them
Its very important to have registry backups
I usually clean mine out after 1 Mth or so (At least I plan to but sometimes don't) but as soon as you are sure you don't need the entries in them feel free to does them.
