Hopefully someone will have some ideas. I ran CCleaner last night on my Dell XPS1330 laptop. The only thing I had checked was the registry cleaner. It has Windows Vista Ultimate on it. After the cleaning, I restarted the computer and all I get is a bluescreen, saying that an error has occurred and windows cannot load. Is there any way that you guys can think of to restore the registry backup that CCleaner made without booting into Windows? I can access the backup file using a Ubuntu live cd, but I don't know where to go from there. Any help would be appreciated.
By the way, using the Windows repair tool on the Vista CD doesn't work either. But it looks like I can access all of my files using a Ubuntu live cd or hooking the drive up to a desktop as a 2nd SATA drive.
