I installed Ccleaner on my nephew's pc which is having problems but the Registry cleaner did NOT find any problem at all. Could this be a virus which is blocking Ccleaner.

I can't imagine any virus in the world would care about a registry scan. Nor think of any way it could possibly effect a scan.
why do you think the registry is to blame? Also i hope you dont think ccleaner has the ability to deal with viruses.

He has XP. PC keeps bringing up Dr Watson errors and other errors, freezes up etc., his AVG found trojans also which he put into the virus fault etc.,

thank you for your reply Hazelnut, I do very much appreciate you trying to help. Unfortunately, I have a nephew who is lazy, not willing to get to grips with problems on his PC and just expects me to sort it out. If whatever I did for him went wrong then, of course, he would have me to blame. So I think I will just leave him to sort his own mess out.
