Morning all.
Recently transferred some files from my old PC onto my new one, and after they'd been moved I deleted pretty much everything from the old PC, and as I was planning on selling the PC I used CCleaner to empty the recycle bin (but no system restore or formatting).
Yesterday I tried opening a few of the documents which I'd moved, and a large amount of them were corrupted, and it turns out the USB stick I had is faulty (PC World have confirmed this). I used Recuva and was happy to see the documents are still in the system and I've restored them, yet when I try to open them they aren't in any kind of order that they were before.
These are rather important documents for work, including pay rolls, performance charts for employees etc.
I'm happy that the files are back, but now need to find something which will restore all the data to it's original form, in the correct layout. I downloaded a program called ExcelFix, but seems like a ripoff which shows me what data has been recovered, but will only restore it to its former working self if I pay an extortionate amount.
Is anyone aware of freeware which will allow me to fix these files?
Many thanks.
