I need to recover a call recording file (3gpp-format) from my Asus Zenfone 4 (Android 7, not rooted). The freeware Recuva can't do the job, my phone doesn't show.
Can Recuva Professional locate deleted (3gpp) files on my Android device? I need to know before purchasing Recuva Professinonal.
recuva pro will not help (it'll act the same). Recuva needs the device to mount as a drive, Android removed the ability to mount as a drive many versions ago (I think gingerbread).
One more thing: the content of my Android smartphone is displayed as a drive (including a drive letter) via an FTP server app on my PC. The scan doesn't work with the free Recuva software (invalid drive size > see photo enclosed).
That would basically make it a NAS (network attached storage) and as far as I know recuva can not access NAS, sorry. Maybe someone will correct me but that's what I remember.
That's correct, none of our software can access NAS storage devices, including Recuva.
Network protocols have different sets of commands (and are also typically much more secured, since they're much easier to get access to) than internal bus connections, not to mention then that the FTP program might introduce its own set of commands/restrictions.
