Not necessarily, just try again. (If you are doung a Deep Scan then try doing a 'Standard scan instead).
Of course it is always possible that the drive itself is faulty but you didn’t mention anything like that, only that you had deleted the files.
If it still quits on you then you could try cutting down the scan so that it doesn’t find as much each time.
eg. instead of searching for all files, or all pictures, cancel the Wizard and instead use the advanced options then specify a wildcard name such as **.jpeg to only find jpeg files, or something even more specific like all files with the word hoilday in the name.
