Recovering "Excellent" Files appear as 0 or 1 byte on the recovered drive

Had a 1TB drive go bad. Replaced with an EVO 500 GB SSD. Using Recova, deep scan, can identify the files in the old drive with the correct sizes. However, when attempting to recover them to the new SSD drive, they come across as 1 or 0 byte length. (See attached image)

Trying to recover to the new drive(C:\) on recommendation of Recova so the recovery does not damage some other files in O:\ that may still be recoverable.

What am I doing wrong?

It takes so long to do the scan (7-11 hours!!!) that I've wasted a lot of time but need to try to get some of the files from the old drive.

Thanks!
