Recuva Free version has no limits on the amount that can be recovered.
(In fact, apart from the ability to recover from virtual drives the Free version can do everything that the Paid for versions can. - ie. save your money and just use the free version).
If you give us more details of what type of drive you want to recover from, and why recovery is necessary, then we should be able to give more advice.
eg. Recovery of deleted files from an internal SSD is unlikely to be sucessful because of the TRIM and Garbage Collect that SSDs do.
Recover of the ‘non-deleted’ files from a drive that has been reformatted, or has crashed, uses a special procedure and not the normal ‘deleted files’ recovery.
Well it is my external hard disk of size 1tb and accidentally the data got deleted. And so tried Recuva free version to scan and restore the deleted data. Though Recuva successfully shown me the deleted data but when I proceed further to restore it, they are asking me to first pay approximately $170 for premium one.
So, am bit confuse that why Recuva is asking. Could you guide. Thank you
Recuva does not do that - And especially not $170.
TBH that sounds like some kind of scam.
Where did you get it from? Are you sure that it is Recuva and not some other recovery software?
Recuva looks like this when you open it:
Recuva professional costs about $25 not $170 (And as I say you don’t need to pay anyway because the Free version does the same anyway. I’ve been using Recuva free for years and it’s never asked me to pay for recovery).
Whatever you currently have on your machine I would suggest that you uninstall it, Restart (not Shutdown) your computer, and then download the official Recuva installer from here:
PS. I have moved this thread into the Recuva sub-forum.
