Once upon a time when I moused to the Word or Excel program from the start button I got a list of the pinned and recent documents. I used CCleaner and lost the list. I've done that before and the list came back gradually, but not now. The recent items list is fine. I'm on Win7 and office 2007. How do I bring it back?
Are you running CCleaner with winapp2.ini?
