No idea...my friend just emailed it to everyone on her contacts list....I was a little paranoid in opening it, because I haven't talked to her in a while, and thought it might target my address book and spread it. Seems to be a chain email.

Any thoughts???

AJ

Looks to me like something is already on their computer sending out spam emails.

Seems to be a chain email.

Looks like it <_<

This section is just way to sensationalist to be true:

THIS IS THE WORST VIRUS ANNOUNCED BY CNN. IT HAS BEEN CLASSIFIED BY MICROSOFT AS THE MOST DESTRUCTIVE VIRUS EVER. THIS VIRUS WAS DISCOVERED BY MCAFEE YESTERDAY, AND THERE IS NO REPAIR YET FOR THIS KIND OF VIRUS. THIS VIRUS SIMPLY DESTROYS THE ZERO SECTOR OF THE HARD DISC, WHERE THE VITAL INFORMATION IS KEPT.

Yeah the gave away in that e-mail that makes it most likely a chain mail is the fact that they said that "THIS VIRUS WAS DISCOVERED BY MCAFEE YESTERDAY". Yeah right

That's what I thought..I was just making sure that I didn't miss something big going around on the internet.

AJ

There is no "zero sector" on a HD. <_<

No offense to the poster...I just get a little upset..even I was taken in just a little by the letter.

The caps lock burns my eyes :|.

Okey-dokey, I'll shut down my computer immediaetly if I receive email called "invitation". It doesn't matter that I use only webmail-based services. Also the caps-lock is very convincing.

What a trash. I don't believe in it at all.

It's b.s. because how is some ordinary joe going to know what Symantec, and Microsoft are "gearing up for" the answer is they wouldn't.

Dude...I know a lot about computers...I overlooked that...but the point is I was double-checking...I was 95% sure that with the Caps-Locks indicated a fake email, but I was making sure that I didn't miss something going around. I knew such a virus was all but ludicrous, but I wanted to make sure. My home PC's are ridiculously clean (at least I would like to think so :D) and I trust the members on here for their advice.
