Re-running Recuva: New file names?

I'm working on recovering files from a 500-GB hard drive due to a poorly-executed restore from Linux to Windows. Don't ask.

At any rate, since Recuva doesn't let me save a session (9 hour scan!), I want to know what's going to happen when I shut Recuva down and run it again later.

I've got lots of files named with numbers in brackets, like [123456.xls], [123457.xls], and so on. Is that a filename that Recuva is generating, or is it just the one it's finding? When I run another scan, will the same file get the same ID?

As a side note, this is why so many users want the ability to save a session somehow. The contents of this HD aren't going to change, but I don't want to leave the computer running for days and days while I go through the recovery.

They are arbitrary ascending file names generated by Recuva. A deep scan can identify a file type by its signature, but not its name, as that is held in the directories, so a name is made up. If the disk is absolutely untouched then the file names should apply to the same files in subsequent scans.
