.qic files

Hi,

The computer vendor used a program (Ycopy) to transfer the data to another hard disk when i bought a new pc. For some reason, it created some sort of bakup files format. When i clic on the folder, it won't let me access it and it tells me that the folder is empty. However, when i right clic on it to scan it with an antivirus, i can see that the files are there. I was able to discover that the file format is .qic. Can recuva recover those files? I did a simple scan and it didn't work. Does someone know how to recover .qic files? I found Roxio on the Internet but i have to pay and i have no money for that and besides, i am not even sure it would work. I am using windows xp. Thank you very much for any help.

First thing I would do is try going back to the computer vendor and present your problem to him and ask for a solution. He must be aware surely that this could happen.

If it is the backup file format I am sure you have read what I read and that winxp doesn't recover them but earlier windows version did.

Someone here provides the facilty to recover them but it is beyond me I'm afraid
