Prefetch

I have been using ccleaner for over 2 years and I am using the latest update version.

I have ticked off "Old Prefetch Data" in the Advance section. I have always been under the impression that when I finished using ccleaner the old prefetch data files disappear. It would appear that this may not be the case.

I went to Start tab and the opened up "Run". I then typed up "prefetch" and pressed the "enter" button. There were a lot of files that ccleaner had not deleted.

Anyone have any ideas as to how to automate this process?

The ones that show up probably are not considered old. The Delete Old Prefetch only removes ones that have not been touched in a certain 14 Days

Old Prefetch Data

In Windows XP a Prefetch file is generated each time an application is run. This helps Windows optimize the application the next time it is executed. Unfortunately these files are not deleted when the applications are removed. This option removes these files for programs that haven't been accessed in 14 days. (This process is very safe and Windows will recreate the files as necessary.)
