Dear Community Members,
I always use CCleaner browser in Private Mode.
A few weeks ago, when I opened the browser, I got a pop up window letting me know that CCleaner Browser couldn’t update, and bid me to Reinstall CCleaner Browser.
I clicked on the button, and was directed to CCleaner’s web site.
I downloaded the installation file, and ran it.
The reinstallation went without a problem, although it was very slow.
Not only the installation was slow but,
during installation I was monitoring the “Performance” tab of the Task Manager,
I noticed that for a long time my laptop seemed to be almost idle.
These are the steps I take to open the browser in Private Mode.
1.- On taskbar, I right-click the CCleaner browser icon.
2.- I click on New Private Mode Window.
A few seconds later, a window pops up with the following information …
The title is "Can’t update CCleaner Browser.
The message is “CCleaner Browser couldn’t update to the latest version, so you’re missing out on new features and security fixes.”
The command button’s caption is “Reinstall CCleaner Browser”.
I repeated the installation process, but the results are the same.
Note …
I like to open CCleaner right-clicking on the icon on the Taskbar,
because I’m given the option to open the browser directly on Private Mode.
If I right-click the icon on the desktop, I don’t get the option to open the browser on Private Mode.
Your assistance will be appreciated.
Best Regards,
Rolando
Samething here, EXACTLY, private mode, or standard, it keeps saying that the browser is not up to date.

Clicking on that link is DEAD too, no SUPPORT. it just goes on a wild goose chase,
seems to have started about a week ago, around Xmas time.
Did the scan system with malwarebytes, and Norton 360 Platinum 2024 edition, even did a root kit scan and rebooted and scanned AGAIN!, booted into safe mode, deleted entire CCleaner’s directories, and did a Windows System file checker, all is well except this BROWSER.
Also since you cannot click on the error message LINK that ccleanerbrowser is showing, and opens a DEAD LINK page, and you CANNOT post LINKS in this FORUM this whole THING is BROKEN,
There are probably a LOT more people with this problem, as maybe they DONT want to create an account just to POST a error message. and wait for eternity for support to figure this out.
Yes, having no live Support is a tremendous drawback CCleaner broswer has.
Yes. In my case, I started having problems just after Christmas.
I also ran a scan with Malwarebytes and AVG. No viruses, pups, etc.
I don’t have the expertiese you have, so I limited my scan to Malwarebytes and AVG.
Yes, you’re right. Working with CCleaner just started to become a pebble in the shoe.
I’m using AVG, so I might end up using their browser too.
Many browser users have their own priorities when it comes to browsers.
Some prefer browsers with a small memory use, others prefer speed, etc.
I prefer security and privacy.
Gemini AI said that Tor provides the most privacy. Unfortunately, many websites don’t play well with Tor.
The second broswer in the list was Libre Wolf.
I haven’t vetted Libre Wolf yet, but I’m already considering moving on.
Let me know if you’re ready to move.

Many forums have the same or similar restrictions for new members.
The only support for home users, (unless you have a CCleaner Premium licence), is by email.
You can raise a support ticket using the form here: CCleaner Support Community
You will be given a ticket number whne you submit the form - make a note of it.
You will then get an automated email reply with some general information (which will probably not interest you).
Your support ticket is now in the queue to get to a person.
You can also contact CCleaner support by emailing: support@ccleaner.com
You should be aware that support are taking a very long time to reply at the moment.
The whole world is operating this way now, time to pick something else, Since NOTHING stands out anymore.
More time wasted trying to do the exact same thing CORRECTLY. No wonder history keeps repeating itself, The system is broken, had almost the exact same experience but with a paid product. Free or Paid = Same experience
Joe …
Today I got an email from CCleaner.
They’re offering their user-support email address … support@ccleaner.com
But they also warned that, given the que size, it will take them a long time to reply.
Maybe before the decade is over. Just maybe.
You’re right, this world is up-side down.
OMG, we’re on the same boat. My life is just like that.
Years wasted trying to find a different way to do the same thing, CORRECTLY.
The system is broken to te core. Even the gods can’t get it together.
As you know, a few members left the Galactic Federation.
Free and paid products suffer the same flaws. Dam if you pay, and dammed if you don’t.
