I ran CCleaner’s Registry Cleaner and cleaned junk files on my Windows 10 PC to try and improve performance. However, now I can’t launch any of my games. Specifically, my poker game (a standalone client) fails to start, and Grand Theft Auto V from the Rockstar Launcher crashes on startup.
I’ve already tried restarting my computer and verifying the game files through their respective launchers, but the issue persists.
Could this be related to a registry entry or a critical file that CCleaner might have removed? What are the best steps to diagnose and fix this without having to do a full system restore?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. For context, the poker game I’m trying to play is the one from wsop free chips
Thanks!"
it’s not needed to have a picture advertising the game. at most a mention of the name is needed (but it’s not)
Did you make a registry backup of the removed reg entries when it was offered? Did you just “clean” everything offered? if you have a reg backup, you can try to merge it into your registry. if that doesn’t work you’ll need to reinstall the broken applications.
in the future, either don’t use registry section – It will not make your computer run better if you use it and can cause problems– or do it in small bits, a section at a time, and only remove the entries you know should be removed (ie programs you’ve uninstalled, entries that point to temp folders)
