My entire laptop crashed during my download of Defraggler and I have not been able to recover anything...the screen is black and will not revive no matter what I have tried. I have used ccleaner for quite some time and have been very pleased and trusted Piriform. Now, I have lost a 2 year old laptop. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Have you tried using any Linux LiveCD or BartPE BootCD to access the drive outside your Operating System? Maybe the data is still accessable. I find quite strange that Defraggler may have cause your problem. It seems more like a hardware problem to me.
A completely black screen can possibly mean the display is turned down too dark, or the graphics card has went out. I've had burnt out graphics cards happen before on more than one occasion. It's somewhat easy to tell if you can hear the hard disk loading stuff and see the hard disk light flashing during startup. But of course if it's hardware failure no software can help fix that.
