I purchased RECUVA PROFESSIONAL and successfully scanned the hard drive I accidentally formatted.
However, when I press the recovery button, the “Select location for recovery” screen appears.
But I cannot select anything.
Only a blank screen (a rectangle) shows up.
Please let me know what went wrong.
Do you have an external or second drive to recover on? Iirc recuva won’t let you recover to the same drive, the deleted files would be overwritten if you were to recover to the same drive.
You are aware that you need to use a special method to recover the ‘live’ non-deleted files from a drive that has accidentally been reformatted?
If you don’t use that particular method then what you will recover will be the Deleted files that were on the accidentally reformatted drive, in most cases that is not what you want, you want the files that were ‘Live’ on there.
