pictures recover but not videos

Hi, I thought I transferred all my pictures and videos from my video cam to computer so I deleted them from the video cam, the next moment I checked in the folder where I thought they went on my computer but the folder was empty and they were deleted from the flash drive in my video cam.

This is the first time I've ever experienced this. I found Recuva, installed it, did a search with it in the flash drive and it found many different files including those I had just accidentally deleted.

I am able to recover the picture files just fine but all the video files when recovered will not play in Windows movie player or VLC which seems to otherwise be able to play most everything.

The video clips are in either AVI or MP4, some have a green button before the name and others have a red button before the names of the files.

Even though Recuva shows the video files being recovered and transferred to the folder of my choice I cannot play any of them. Windows Movie Player just won't play them (no surprise) but VLC gives an error: ... VLC does not support the audio or video format of .undf, I've found VLC to be one of the best and I depend on it to play back any video so there must be something not getting back with Recuva?

Any ideas? Thanks for any help, Recuva did recover the pictures just fine.
