You will need to give more details of what you are seeing that makes you say that PO doesn't work for you.
Please also give the usual information of what Windows version you are using, what CCleaner version you have, and if you are using an AV other than Windows Security/Defender.
I am using Windows 10, Latest version of Ccleaner Pro Plus and System Mechanic as AV.

I would suspect that there is a clash with System Mechanic.
ie. Both SM and Performance Optimiser are trying to optimise your computer in the background, they are trying to do the same kind of things and so are tripping over each other.
Does CCleaner's PO work if you temporarily disable System Mechanic ?

In the end I think that you will have to choose to use one or the other, but not both at the same time.
The rest of CCleaner's functions and tools should still be working with SM running.
I get the same error as buildup, with the following error message appearing:
