I have corrupted SDXC cards used in Panasonic and Nikon cameras. I have noticed that in the Piriform Site description that Recuva can retrieve Canon RAW files but does not mention any other camera makes. Will my camera RAW files be ignored? I am using the free copy of Recuva. If I purchase the Pro version will I be able to recover these files?
Hi Dragonking, and welcome to the forum.
I wouldn't say yes or no to your query regarding Raw files other than Canon. The guys here can only go by the guide and any personal experience we have with the software, and I haven't had the opportunity to attempt the recovery of Raw files of any type.
Give it a try and see what happens as you have nothing to lose by doing that, and if you have zero success, then have a go with "Photorec" which does recover Raw files from a larger variety of sources. It's free, and although looks like command line it does have a structured dialogue to follow.

So have a go with Recuva, and then Phtorec if Recuva comes up with nothing.
And the Pro and Free versions of Recuva have the same functionality. The Pro version comes with priority support from Piriform.
Hope that helps and let us know how it goes.
Thanks DennisD. I will go to the website you suggest. I have however recovered my RAW files using Recuva. In the drop down options list for searching there is an option **.**. I chose this and entered the the raw file reference which was .rw2. As it had already scanned the card, Recuva instantly displayed all the files. I saved them and luckily none of them were corrupt. Using this method I even recovered a movie file. I think that the web site description of Recuva's abilities must mean that the Canon raw files are in the search list already.
On a personal front, you're description says you live on the North East coast of England. I live in North Yorkshire.
Thanks again.
That's excellent, I'm pleased you got your stuff back, and thanks for updating us with the result.
I'll remember your success with Canon, and did you also get what you wanted off the Panasonic card? You do say you got everything back but just to confirm that as this is extremely useful info for others.
I live up the coast in Seaham, so hello to a neighbour.
