Paid, Can't Download CCleaner

Sorry to do this on the forums but there doesn't seem to be a way to get help from the site otherwise.

I went to the CCleaner site from my home computer but on my work account and paid the $20 thru PayPal. However, when I then tried to download CCleaner, my work account blocked it (natch - I'd forgotten I was on my work network). So - I logged off work and got on my home account and now when I try to download CCleaner I just get the screen telling me to pay.

How can I indicate that I have paid and get right to the download? I suppose I could go get PayPal to cancel the payment, but thought I'd ask here first. Sure wish there was a technical help button so someone from the company could answer this.

Suzieque

ccleaner is totally free Suzieque. You do NOT have to pay for it at all, some folk choose to make a donation but that is a different thing.

Try downloading from here

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds

You can choose ANY of the builds listed there.

Thank you so much. Well, I guess I didn't read enough to realize that it isfree. It asked for $20 and I paid it. Darn. Oh well. And I so appreciate your quick response, with the info I am looking for. Thanks!

It asked for $20 and I paid it.

Can you show us the link where you were asked to pay anything?

I have downloaded every version of CCleaner since v1.0, and I never saw anything asking me to pay. (I did, however, make a donation from the original ccleaner.com site. On the new piriform.com site it is rather difficult to find the donation link.)

When I clicked "Download" from the CCleaner home site, the next screen asked me to pay, but I did think it odd that it didn't mention an amount. So I clicked PayPal to see if that showed the price, and it did. When the PayPal site came up it said $20. I paid it. I have no problem contributing to these free things and I thank the owners for doing them. I do wish, though, that I'd read a bit more before I'd jumped. My fault, not theirs.

Sounds like you must mean this screen - it asks if you want to "donate" to "help support the software." That's not the same thing as "buy" the software.

Indeed, some friends i gave the link to the download page, quite frequently were answering that it does ask to "pay to download".

In my opinion, just a different layout could help to avoid such kind of misunderstundings

You are correct. That's the screen, and I was wrong to say that I "bought" it. As I said, my fault entirely because I neglected to read it closely. Acually, my screen is cracked and I'e got a couple of small blotches on it (a replacement screen is on order) so it's kind of difficult and certainly annoying to move the window around so I can see fully. Again, not anything about this site - total user (me) related.

I've posted about this in our staff area so the Piriform owner can be notified of this confusion. Just have to wait now and see if Piriform does anything about it.

Well it's a worthy donation anyway. It's good to support free, clean software. I've donated a few times myself.

Although hopefully Piriform will offer you something in this situation (if you're looking for a refund or whatever)

Well, I haven't asked for, nor do I expect, anything. I went into it with my eyes open but not paying attention. Live and learn. And I don't mind donating to a good cause, either (although I'd have preferred it to handle it a different way). Oh well. Im fine with it.

Well, I am glad you donated to the original developers (Piriform). I know that there are some scam sites around the Internet that sell free software (not their own).

Anyway, have you finally been able to download and use CCleaner?
