Overheating Solution?

Overheating Solution?

Can you Piriform Techs perhaps add a Anti-OS Overheat Feature on Defraggler & CCleaner? Because I've been having OS Overheat problems lately & that's why I'm asking :) .

I'm not a techie here. Do you mean a 'heat monitering app', or a coolant system? Speccy gives real time heat readings of processors. I don't think Piriform is into the coolant department.

PC_SecurityGuard, most overheating problems are caused by dust accumulation on the fans that cool the pc located on the case/GPU/CPU/power supply, or by very low amounts of RAM (computer is using the HDD a lot), or by being kept in a location that is too hot for normal computer operation.

Blow out your dust with a blower while holding the blades of the fans with a q-tip so they don't over-RPM. Do this while the computer is OFF & UNPLUGGED.

Check how much RAM you have with the crucial memory scanner. General rule is, anything less than 1 GB is inadequate. Many users need 2 or 3 GB MINIMUM.

Reduce your startup items to a bare minimum.

Swap Norton/McAfee for AVG free.

CClean, then defragment your drive fully.

Locate your PC in a cooler room (if necessary).

* On older hardware, XP is the lowest you can go and still use modern programs. It may run slightly cooler. Modern hardware runs better on 7.

Is it a laptop?

superfast please use people's "names" not their titles. Calling somebody newbie is kinda rude

... overheating problems are caused by dust accumulation on the fans ...

Well, wouldn't it be just great if CCleaner could do that for us... B)

Just use some Piriform© Pear Juice™ CPU Coolant

Locate your PC in a cooler room (if necessary).

Put it on a shelf in the refrigerator and pull up a comfy chair. :P Or put a refrigerator in the PC as seen here, beverages not included.
