Hello,
Since I used CCCleaner, I get the following message whenever I open/mark an (imap) email: "Do you want to open or save this file?" - the {.....}.html-files this refers to seem to be in a temp file folder.
Did I by accident reset some security value in Outlook?
Thenks for helping, working with email is almost impossible at the moment....

If you're using Outlook that comes as part of Microsoft Office something to try is to untick any Microsoft Office boxes located in CCleaner at: Cleaner > Applications
Perhaps using a System Restore Point will help, or grab the Microsoft Office install CD(s) to perform a Repair Install of Office.
If you've used any other cleaning software besides CCleaner there's many registry cleaners aggressive and non-aggressive which will wreak havoc upon Microsoft Office if you allow them to remove Microsoft Office registry keys that they deem "invalid" which are of course not invalid in any way.
Thanks for the quick answer :-)
How to backup the registry from the backup I let CCCleaner make before performing its arts on my computer?
Usually it's right-click on the backup then select merge . Or just double-click it.
Hi again,
unfortunately neither the registry restore nor the repair function solved this problem.
Can anyone help me to get it back to normal again?

Hi folks, solution found (for the ones of you who either love German or the Google translate function ;-)

I deactivated the social connector add-in, and the problem was solved (just as Tobi, who posed the question on answers.microsoft.com).
Here is what I was talking about in pictures:http://imageshack.us...ildfehler1.jpg/
The side-effect is: I can't use the social connectors like the Xing Connector etc. anymore...
Dear CCCleaner coders: please check how to make CCCleaner not cause this problem anymore. If, on your way, you find out how to reactivate the social connector add-in after the accident, please quote here :-)
