The link in the bottom right to update should not always go to IE. It should go to the default browser.
It does go to the default browser. At least, for me. ShellExecute() automatically knows this (and that's what I assume MrG uses for that link)... so to prove or disprove this theory, go to Start, Run, and type http://www.CCleaner.com
and see which browser opens.
i get the attached error message
i went and tried to figure out the stuff in the CP, but i wasn't sure what to do
also, im leaving sunday for about 2 months, so if i dont reply by then i probably won't
Ah I totally recognize that error. Easy to fix.
Go into Internet Explorer (Start, Run, IEXPLORE). Tools>Internet Options. Programs tab, Reset Web Settings.. yes. Tell IE to check whether it's the default browser. Close IE. Re-open IE. IE may ask you if IE can be the default browser. Uncheck the box that says 'always perform this check', but answer YES, so IE is now the default browser. Close IE. Open Firefox, go into FF's options, and set FF as the default browser. http:// from the run line should work again, and CCleaner's URLs should take you to Firefox instead of IE.
