Openoffice Question

hey there...

i'm a college student and have the microsoft 2007 edition.....for my program at school, i need to e-mail a lot of my work to my teachers. Since they only have the older, 2003 edition, they can't open any of the work i send them.....if i save everything in openoffice then send it, will they be able to open it? or is there another program that would allow me to do this? i have another assignment due on the 17th...so i need to find something fast....

Yeah as long as when you save it you choose .doc, .ppt, or whatever in the drop down menu then they should be able to open it.

Actually you should be able to change the saving behaviour in Word.

In Options->Save you can have Word always save with compatibility with older versions such as Word 97 under Default Format, this way you'll never forget to save a document that's compatible.

Or you can use Save As and select what's detailed in highlighted blue area Save as type of the the screenshot below:
