OpenDNS Updater Settings?

Andavari . . . how do you have things set in the Preference tab of your OpenDNS Updater?

The default settings, which has it check for IP address changes every five minutes. It will also check for updates at each startup, and logon.

If you want it to automatically start with Windows you have to manually enable that setting, it's not enabled by default.

What about some of the other boxes in Preferences?

Also, for some reason, when I enable the "Start when Windows Starts" box, that setting doesn't hold. Each time I reboot, it seems to clear that setting and the Updater doesn't load into my system tray. Do you have the same problem?

I haven't changed anything in preferences.

And you are correct, the enable startup with Windows is broken which is verified by CCleaner's registry cleaner because it adds an incorrect start path. What I did was create a shortcut to "C:\Program Files\OpenDNS Updater\OpenDNS Updater.exe" in the Start Menu's All Users Profile StartUp folder, in XP that's located at:

"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup"

... you can also use the setting to enable it as a service, however I won't use that one because it doesn't add the icon into the systray next to the clock.
