IMPORTANT We have been evaluating the public health situation, and we understand this is impacting our customers. In response to these challenges, we are prioritizing our focus on security updates. Starting in May 2020, we are pausing all optional non-security releases (C and D updates) for all the supported versions of Windows client and server products (Windows 10, version 1909 down to Windows Server 2008 SP2).

It's only the optional C & D updates that are being paused, and only for business setus (Windows client and server products). They will still be offered to home users.

Patch Tuesday 'B' updates will still be going ahead as normal.

As will the 20H1 May Update due next month, probably on Patch Tuesday. (Unless they change their minds).

After reading this zdnet article, I will NOT be installing Windows 10 2004 even though it's sitting on my PCs ready to be downloaded and installed.

You would not have been offered it through Windows Update if any of those issues affected your machine.

There is a 'Comaptability Hold' so that machines affected by those issues will not be offered the upgrade.

@nikki605

Don't believe all you read. Just about every 'news' site you go one will warn, shout or similar. They have to get readers.

This seems to have been a very easy upgrade for me. I always do 2 or 3 full restarts in the hours following a major upgrade so that everything gets the chance to be put in it's place and settle down.

As nukecad says if you have any of those 'stoppers' you wouldn't be offered the update anyway.

I'll just wait 30-60 days then play loaded gun roulette with it. I doubt it will be offered to my Acer laptop, none of the major upgrades ever have been.
