To be clear, this hangup is on CCleaner 7, of course. All previous versions worked fine.
Presumably it’s finding something to update, either software or a driver, which for some reason it can’t then update.
There could be various reasons for that from a server being down somewhere to a filrewall block on your computer.
Is this happening with Health Check or with one of the seperate updater tools?
Do a scan (preferably using the seperate tools) to see what it is finding to update and then update each one manually (if you want to) or tell CCleaner to ignore it, eg.
PS. I normally have that one set to be ignored, because if I do update it then the fingerprint reader stops working.
(And if it’s working then don’t try to fix it).
If you do them one by one then either they will all complete, or one or more will ask for something that CCleaner 7 couldn’t give it, or one or more will hang altogether.
Thank you for taking the time to post your analysis and solution. I took the easy solution and reinstalled v. 6.39.
