it install to "C:\Program Files\Opera 9 Beta" instead of C:\Program Files\Opera" so i got rid of it. it's pretty good though. it also has widget functionality which i'm planning to take advantage of when the final releases.
also built-in BT support(even though it sucks)
That was just so it didnt overwrite your other opera install(which I didnt have). Also did you notice that it only takes up 5mb?
Anyway I finally got the tab bar under the address bar and that made a huge difference for me. I pretty much have it looking like firefox now. I still am using FF for the time being but who knows.

yeah but i want it to overwrite it. i don't feel comfterable by setting up everything again(it's a clean install btw). and there was so much stuff to add(POP3, Feeds, etc.) so i just quit and uninstalled it. and yeah the Opera website or the Opera 8 installer always says that it's shorter than firefox

why would you want it under the adress bar? it looks just fine above it(cept if using a special skin)
PS: this is my Opera
I didn't like it on top because it makes it look like its taking up more room. Also I have the hide when not in use box checked.
Yours looks good. What program are you using to have the song titles on the title bar?
foobar2000. it has a plugin called AMIP(google it) which lets it integrate now playing into in title bar, mIRC, Skype, Yahoo Messenger, AIM, Google Talk, and a lot of other stuff. it's really bloated. there's also a plugin called foo_tbar(i think) that does the same but i dunno if its been ported to 0.9 yet.
I use foobar too.
I might try that thanks for the info.
Since your an opera user I have a question for you. Why are their two sets of backward/forward buttons? I have removed the blue ones. They seem to do exactly the same thing as the green ones.
i don't perfectly understand why they even bothered to put it there. but i'll try to explain what they do. the << button goes back to the main page. here's an example.
you go to google.com and you do a couple of searches. to get back to google.com, you have to click the < button multiple times. but with the << button, 1 click is required.
as for the other one, that one really confuses me. but it looks almost like it picks a random link from the page and loads it.
Ok so its pretty pointless.
Thanks.

Please post a screenshot of what you did.
My biggest complaint against Opera is that its viewable webpage area is somewhat smaller than Firefox, and simply using Firefox there's instantly a noticable difference.
How come Opera is so small in file size?
Im not sure
But I admit its a great browser
Talk about minimalistic rridgely, you really made Opera look skinny. After your previous post about making it look more like Firefox I too did some customizing and came up with this:
Yours looks better but it takes up more screen space. I don't know why but having big toolbars like the ones opera has bothers me.
get rid of the links toolbar. it's useless
get rid of the links toolbar. it's useless
Do you mean the Personal Bar? If so I can't do that as the links I have in it are visited all the time.
There's some stuff in Opera that I wish could be moved around to any location but it won't allow it.
