Office 2010 beta to final question

I have the Office 2010 beta installed, and in particular have been using the Outlook 2010 beta. I am ready to buy the final Office 2010. Can I install it over hte beta, or do I have to uninstall the beta? If I have to uninstall, how do I transfer or save the email messages and contacts from the beta version into the final version?

I am not sure but I have a feeling you will need to remove the beta first before you install the full version or maybe when the beta period ends, there could an option asking you to upgrade so I'd rather wait till the trial ends and if this option asking you to upgrade does appear, that would be the time to find out.

I believe that your saved e-mail messages and contacts are saved somewhere in the Office 2010 folder that you can then copy and paste to a similar location in the Office 2010 folder in C:\Program Files after the full version is installed but this is a bit theoretical as I have not exploited MS Office myself.

You have to do a clean install.

Thanks!

If the beta doesn't uninstall correctly, this guide might help : http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/15626/fix-problems-upgrading-office-2010-beta-to-rtm-final-release/ wink.gif

I uninstalled the beta and then onstalled the final version - no problems. Thanks!

Thank Goodness I work for a Non-Profit and we can get (Very discounted) Microsoft Licenses (think $5-15 instead of ?430 )

As good as Microsoft Office is it's very well worth it in my opinion! It isn't like someone has to update to every new version as I'm still using Office 2003.
