20250816 - Although I successfully uninstalled Norton 360 (presumably), in CCleaner, Uninstall tool cannot remove/delete/uninstall an otherwise empty listing. Uninstall shows only ‘Name,’ Norton Security, and ‘User’. Other columns, ‘Size’, ‘Version’, etc. are blank. I’ve cleaned the Register repeatedly. Searched for anything ‘Norton’ with File Explorer and deleted all those files manually, mostly JPGs. Very eery! Help please.
Using CCleaner Pro in Win11 Pro, up to date.
norton, like nearly all other antimalware programs, should be uninstalled with that conpany’s own remover software
be sure to read all the steps otherwise you may endup reinstalling it instead of removing leftovers
Yes, I did just that. It said it worked, but NOT.
Tried it again - NRnR.exe (“Uninstall only”) and CleanWipe.exe, both ‘success” msg, and still same Norton Security appears in the list.
But it no longer appears in the Windows “Programs and Features” listing, so I’m not going to worry about it. I guess it is a bug in CCleaner, aided by Norton?
For the record, here’s a picture of the dialogue window:
