None of my desktop icons open when I click on them

I just downloaded an update for CCLeaner and ran both Cleaner and Registry.

Now when I click on any desktop icon or link, none will open.

Need help desperately :( .

First did you make a backup of the registry items you cleaned when offered the chance to do so?

Did you have ccleaner already installed on your system?

What is your operating system and service pack?

Are all your antivirus/malware scans up to date and clean?

Do you have system restore turned on?

The same thing happened to me. I updated ccleaner to 3.15. I ran ccleaner like I usually do but didn't clean registry. After cleaning was done I couldn't open any of my internet short cuts. I uninstalled ccleaner. I restarted my computer and was able to get all my internet short cuts back. I reinstalled ccleaner 3.14 and did another clean. Every thing is back to normal now. I wonder if the 3.15v has a bug in it?

I have Windows 7 home 64 bit sp1
