No Need for Ad-Aware?

Hi Guys,

I've been using CCleaner for about two months now with very satisfactory results. Lately, i've noticed that after running CC my Ad-Aware (personal edition) doesn't really pick anything up, except for about 3-4 inconsequential items. This lead me to wonder.....Does CC's functionality overlap that of Ad-Aware's? Is there anything one can do that the other doesn't quite cover?

CCleaner isn't an adware, spyware, malware remover. Ad-Aware is probably not finding tracking cookies since CCleaner by default removes cookies. The already deleted cookies is most likely what Ad-Aware isn't finding, hence CCleaner already deleted them.

In sort if Ad-Aware is your main or cherished anti-spyware software keep it!

Thx for the heads up, Andavari. :)

Hm, cookies, very interesting. I wonder if that's pretty much all Ad-Aware was handling on my PC? I think i'll do a few comparisons over the coming week to find out if there's anything else Ad-Aware is handling. It doesn't seem to be very much.

Ad-Aware is worth keeping because it can find malware including but not necessarily limited to adware, spyware, HOSTS file hijacks, etc.
