It causes 10 to 20 second delay

Same problem for some time

On more than one computer

Running Windows 7

Just to clarify something, you're experiencing delays while loading Defraggler or delays loading other applications??

Richard S.

I think while defragging, Defraggler is hanging up on that file. If I'm reading correctly.

Perhaps there's a bad spot on the hard drive, bad or nearly bad sectors can cause application hanging.

Check Event Viewer for "Disk" events (eventvwr.exe) as well as running "chdsk.exe /r"

Richard S.

yes, and does not defrag it

programme starts fine

not running another programme

1 confirm it is this file having,

having read the screen telling me so,

it is the only file that remains not defragged,

problem disappears when I select all files except that one to defrag

thought of that, dismissed it

it is always the same file

it is not always in the same place

Have you tried running the system file checker?

sfc /scannow

eventually cleared it, required full reload, so never found out why
