New user - search FAQ's - couldn't find info

Hi there, recently i installed CC Cleaner (it's been recommended in numerous forums) and i really liked it, as it cleaned up almost 700 MB of stuff. I used windows clean up before, but never had that much get removed. So I like it but just some questions from a novice that icouldn't seem to find anywhere else

1. I understand it will only clean the current user accounts. If i wanted to clean the other accounts do in need to copy my shortcut to those accounts and run it?

2. I have this polar golf game and after i ran CC Cleaner all the scores and levels i had achieved were gone and had to start over. Is this normal? Didn't seem to impact any other games that i can tell so far.

thanks.

Hey Gomer,

Welcome to the forum!!!

I am to embarrassed to say exactly how much CCleaner cleaned up for me and that was after manually deleting a lot of stuff.

Question 1 answer is you are correct.

Question 2 answer is that some games and programs put their data into temp files or .log files .

You might try unchecking some of those options to see if your game info is not then removed.

If you can find out the file path, you can use the Options > Exclude feature to prevent that file from being deleted.

This link will answer other questions you have.Bookmark it and save it to favorites.

Replying in the right thread this time, and yeah i know i'm late.

I did some more exahustive research on wild tangent itself and found out

that it saves high schores etc as cookies, so i followed the guide to keep those

in the options area, and after another run, the scores remained.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

If you play allot of online games, and if any are Adobe Flash Based you'd also need to disable the cleaning of Adobe Flash Player. It's located in Cleaner->Applications tab->Multimedia

Thanks for reporting back.

It is always useful to learn where some of that "games" info is kept.

I think Andavari's reply is most useful for many "gamers" also.Non-gamers as well.
