new member....a couple questions

Hi everybody: I recently downloaded the Recuva program and used it for the first time. It seemed to have worked well. I wanted to join the forum and look forward to chatting. I also had a few questions. I hope somebody can help.

In the list of overwritten files there are mostly red dots, which I assume are overwritten and unrecoverable

(I used Gutmann 35). There are still a number of green dots and it says that the files are in excellent condition.

Were they, or were they not overwritten? If not, why not and what can I do to get them overwritten as well?

also

I have a MAC with OS 10 software, prior to Apple's switch to Intel processors.

Does Recuva have any program that can overwrite files on a MAC the way it did for my PC?

Would appreciate some help. thanks, Tommyboy

Recurva considers all deleted files as excellent condition providing their clusters are not used by other files.

Therefore even if you could recover deleted files there is no guarantee they're the uncorrupted originals.

I can't help you regarding the Mac you could perform a low level format and hope it destroys everything. :)
