New forum look.

Don't like it.

Not too bad on the laptop.

(Malwarebytes forum has been using this Ipboard version for a while so sort of used to that).

But on the mobile/Android version it's horrible IMO.

I thinkr Nergal agrees with you about the mobile.

gotta say, I'm liking it.

some very small tweaks and I'd probably even say I love it.

the Block customisations are good, changing the theme from super green to the default blue and removing the annoying Announcements block from every damn section you go to helps as well.

+1. I more than don't like it!

I can only browse the forums using Mozilla Firefox ESR Portable v52.4.0 (32-bit), if I want to post anything I have to do so in SRWare Iron.

I wish Piriform would dump IPB completely and use something that's more conventional looking and has better usability like the free ElkArte.

Edit:

Doesn't work in Mozilla Firefox ESR Portable v52.4.1 either.

Bit off topic, but, Andavari, I'm using ff portable ver 48.01 here on xp. It works on every site I visit, and is a bit faster than most of the newer versions.

I must admit to turning on the forum blue look which seems more restful on my eyes than the green one.

(scroll to very bottom of the page, click on Theme and select 'default')

Would like to see the post numbers.

PHPBB is also a good one. https://www.phpbb.com/

On the other hand, this new upgrade seems to run faster for me.

Either click on the share link (3 sided little prong thing where post numbers used to be) or click on the time the post was made e.g. ''posted 37 minutes ago'' to get the hyperlink for a specific post.

I do indeed

It is faster as you've stated. However even when disabling and even uninstalling uBlock Origin I'm still unable to post anything in a topic or PM with FF Portable ESR 52.4.1. Nothing more I can do on my end.

I don't have the share link (3 prong thing) you are talking about, but clicking on the date seems to have worked. Thank you.

I see the three prong 'share link' thing on mobile and it works, but not on Windows?

And clicking the date on Windows just refreshes the page to that post.

(So you could copy the link to a specific post from the browser address bar).

Right Click on the date and 'copy link location' also works.

It's got to be a setting somewhere.

EDIT

Just been over to Malwarebytes who are using IPboard version 4.2.5 and they are showing the # numbers for the posts.

A little strange becaues you have to move your cursor into the post to see "Report Post" and the # number in the top right corner.

It's got to be a setting in IPboard.

They have been having teething problems with the IPB updates over there as well:

This linking question in particular:

Yes, that works. That share link is very pale grey here, bit hard to see.

However I have not yet figured out how to reveal the post number. All through the forum there are posts that refer back to a post number such as "See post 8 on page 1". Those will have little meaning now.

Is anyone else irked by the fact that clicking on a thread doesn't bring you to the last read anymore. Or is that just my firefox mobile and others go to the last read?

If there are unread posts then you should see a black 'dot' (or star) at the left of the thread title in the forum or activity listing.

Clicking on that should open it at the first unread post.

(The star shows if you have made a post in that thread).

@nukecad

Which forum skin are you using, default or Piriform? Does anything alter for you regarding the prong working if you change skins?

For some reason I now have no 'who is online' showing at the right-hand side of main page now, and members list has moved to the bottom of the page.

They were all there earlier, somebody has stolen them  .

I think showing so many members on the right makes little sense, especially if they aren't even logged onto the forums.

Totally agree, makes it look as though there are thousands on the forum !!
