First, I just wanted to express my thanks to the authors for all their effort. I've been using CCleaner for a couple of years now and it continues to improve with every release.
Prior to discovering CCleaner, I used the shareware program PurgeIE to clean up my internet cache and temporary files. And although CCleaner cleans up many things that PurgeIE doesn't, I've noticed that PurgeIE offers a couple of features which are not included in CCleaner:
1. Deletes temporary files and folders in C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\UserData\. I believe Windows Update leaves some stuff in here that can be deleted.
2. From PurgeIE Product Page: "Internet Explorer?s primary INDEX.DAT files are properly updated without deleting them using Microsoft caching routines. This avoids the requirement for rebooting used by other cookie/cache utilities that simply delete the primary INDEX.DAT files." My understanding is that CCleaner only marks the INDEX.DAT files for deletion, rather than open the files and clean them out.
Any chance either of these features could be included in a future release of CCleaner? Thanks for your help.
