Need help with scheduling auto scan in version 7

I can’t find a way to schedule daily scan / clean in this new “7”

Hi @Antos,
At this time CCleaner 7 does not have a scheduling option.
We will be adding this feature in an update that will be released soon.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks for the answer. Seems like we are going backward. Is there any way to revert back to my previous " 6 Professional" ?

I really don’t like this new version.

Hi @Antos,
You can revert back to CClener 6 using the linked support article below.

20th October 2025: Ccleaner version 7.0.1010.0 non-availability of scheduler

This is a message for Laurence of the CCleaner staff. You write above that CCleaner 7 doesn’t currently have a scheduling option and that you’ll be adding this feature in an update that will be released soon. I rather agree with Antos that the lack of a scheduling option is a grave deficiency in version 7.0.1010.0.

Now the choice of whether to wait for the scheduling option or whether to revert for the time being to version 6 depends on how long the wait will be. If it’s just 2-3 weeks I and your other customers can probably hang on for it, but if it’s not going to happen before the spring of 2026 it’s a different matter.

So would you please let us know when it’s likely to be available? We’ll need a frim deadline, please, not just ‘it should be available in the next few weeks or months’. If we can’t count on it I imagine most of us will want to revert to version 6.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hi @Paul_Mason,
As this is in ongoing development I am not able to give a firm date on the release as any specific date I give you may change.
All I can say is that it should be very soon, and I would not describe Spring 2026 as very soon.
Sorry, I am not able to be more specific.

Thanks, Laurence, for your double-quick reply. Will the scheduling option be available on version 7 before the end of November 2025? If so, I’ll hold on for it. If not, or you’re not sure, I’ll revert to version 6 for the time being unless you advise that doing so would have serious drawbacks.

@Paul_Mason, unfortunately I am not able comit to scheduling being available in CCleaner 7 before the end of 2025 as development is ongoing and dates may change due to delays.

Same her, looked for it last weekend.

Makes one wonder why they did not have the guts to pull the plug on this version.

Rule of thumb suggestion for future Ccleaner upgrades: If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.

Thanks, Laurence. For the benefit of all of us users who are weighing up whether to revert for the time being to version 6 would you please list any substantive drawbacks of doing so. If there are none, I expect most of us will uninstall version 7 and revert to version 6 so as to save ourselves the bother of trying to remember regularly to run the clean-up programme. Thanks in advance, and looking forward to hearing from you. Paul Mason, Pembury, Kent, England.

@Paul_Mason We are no longer supporting version 6 of CCleaner, so it will no longer receive bug fixes, security patches, or cleaning updates.

Hi Lawrence,

Thanks for your help.

I would think that by now all of the bugs in “6” would have been fixed. Actually in the years I’ve used Ccleaner I never encountered a bug. But in “7” I’ve already experienced several, i.e. when scanning for custom clean the counter freezes at around 88% If it does proceeds past 88% it still takes much longer than with “6 professional. ”. Also the “Cookies” selection and cleaning isn’t as intuitive and simple. And to be honest, the entire look of “7” is rather juvenile not professional.

I do think that launching version 7 without a scheduler was a mistake; and that inviting clients to download it without first warning them about the lack of a scheduler - thus causing them to waste a lot of time looking for it in vain - was not good service. That doesn’t mean I’m giving up on Ccleaner, but I have uninstalled version 7, reinstalled version 6, and unticked the ‘update version automatically’ option in the settings, as advised in the article helpfully referred to by Antos (thanks).
