need help with registry...doubts...

The ccleaner is great. Thanks. Need help with registry cleaner. In a youtube video I saw it said to leave (items below Registry Integrity) shared dlls and Mui Cache boxes unchecked. In other words not to scan those issues. Should I worry about that? I went ahead and scanned all Issues (left all boxes under Registry Integrity checked), clicked to fix all selected issues. All this is new to me. Computer seems to do better now. But don't know if I will have future problems. I want to avoid messing up pc. I went to http://docs.piriform.com/ccleaner/using-cc...gistry-cleaning to find any tips but could not. Youtube video said dll files share applications (hope I said this correctly) so I should leave box unchecked. Please tell me if all is ok.

Hi Raul.

CCleaner doesn't delete dll files and such, it deletes "Invalid Paths To Missing Shared DLL's". Meaning it removes entries in the registry pointing to dll files that are no longer there.

However, there is always an inherent risk when deleting entries from the registry, which means it is vitally important to follow the CCleaner dialogue, and make a backup of the entries being deleted.

Far better is to also start using a program called ERUNT, which makes a daily copy of your entire registry, and can be configured to keep a rolling number of backups, for example the last three. You will already know this from your previous post ...HERE:

Saying all this, I've been running CCleaner Issues with everything checked for 3 years, and have never encountered a problem. But I still make a backup.
